The Giclee (pronounced jee-clay) process is a relatively new printing method available to the fne art community.  It is akin to what is commonly known as Inkjet printing.  The equipment however is a significant step above your off-the-shelf computer and $99 inkjet printer.

Typically, instead of four color composition, the process will use six or eight inks to form colors.  The resolution is very high which renders bold, sharp coloring often surpassing traditional offset lithography.  The pigmented inks are not your garden variety inkjet cartridges, but are specially formulated for the fine art community and have superiority lightfastness characteristics.  Simply put, combined with archival paper, your image will look great and keep on looking great.
